As you know, real estate prices have gone up and down over the past 100 years… and in recent years have busted through the roof!  I stumbled upon this cool “virtual roller coaster of real estate prices” video that gives you a unique look at the journey real estate prices have taken to get where we are today. 

Take a look at it… it’s worth the few minutes!

This really gives you a good idea of where real estate prices have been in recent years as compared to history.  Of course, inflation plays a big role in the trend… but other factors in recent years have driven us to the top of the roller coaster.

Are we on a huge dive cycle in the coaster?  Huge… I don’t know about that… but definetely a bit of a dip.  But… just like every dive in a coaster… it just leads to another uphill climb down the line.  This video goes to show that the long term real estate trend is always upward overall… so those holding a nice piece of rental property shouldn’t dive out of the market just yet just because prices have gone down a bit… hold onto that property and hit the next upward trend that is just around the corner.
