Self Improvement Tip of the Week: There is no happiness without action…

Remember this little quote…

“Action does not always bring happiness; but there is no happiness without action”

That little statement is a lot more profound than you may think. 

Everyone knows that “action does not always bring happiness”.  Afterall, if every action brought happiness we would all have 100% success rates at everything that we take action in.

That just DOESN’T HAPPEN!

However, the second part of the statement is much more important to understand. 

“There is no happiness without action”. 

This is the part that most people just don’t get.  Most people will think about action, contemplate action, dream about action… but NEVER actually take action to get what they want most in life. 

To me, this is the biggest mystery in life.  Why do people (myself included) fail to take action for the things that we want the most… but constantly do the things that lead us farther away from what we want?

It’s extremely CRAZY if you think about it. 

We’ll keep doing what doesn’t get us what we want… but it is very hard for us to do what does get us what we want….

We have everything we need to get what we want right here at the tips of our fingers… but find excuse after excuse after excuse why we don’t simply go after what we want and live our ONE AND ONLY LIFE the way that truly makes us happy!

The one simple thing that keeps 98% of people from living the life they dream about is:

The propensity for people to a act on “weakening” things rather than “strengthening” things. 

If you really want a guaranteed way to succeed and get what you want out of life, you need to do two things.  If you do these TWO THINGS you will succeed and get what you want… A BILLION TIMES QUICKER TOO!

Here they are… like most things in life, they are extremely simple… but most people think that a simple solution can’t be the best solution… but they ARE WRONG.

  1. STOP performing actions that DON’T bring about your desired result
  2. START performing actions that DO bring about your desired result

Wow!

How simple is that?  Imagine if you followed only those two simple steps everyday.  What could you achieve in a matter of 3 months?  6 months?  1 year?  It’s crazy even to think about it. 

But, most of us live life performing actions all of the time that simply don’t bring about the desired result… this causes us to go two steps forward and one step backward throughout life and some of us may never get what we truly want because we are taking too many steps backwards!

Action Step:

For the rest of this month, track your actions. 

You can do it by paper, brain power… whatever.  Just track you actions and be conscious of whether they are helping you bring about your desired result and get closer to reaching your goals…

or…

… are they actually not helping you at all in bringing about your desired results?

If you can consciously pinpoint the actions that you take everyday that are NOT actively bringing about the desired results and ACTIVELY helping you reach your goals…

THOSE ACTIONS NEED TO BE DELETED FROM YOUR LIFE!

It may not be easy to delete those actions from your life… but nothing worthwhile is easy.

I can guarantee that you once you delete the NEGATIVE ACTIONS one by one, your life will change dramatically over time for the better. 

I use this approach and have seen huge results over just a 6 month period. 

Yes, you may fall back to your old ways from time to time… but you need to remember the reason you are doing it in the first place.  To live the life you want to live and to not settle for what is being dished out to you.

Go out and dump the “weakening” actions and emphasize the “strengthening” actions.
