I AM SETTING UP MY OWN BOOKKEEPING FOR OUR SMALL PROPERTIES (4 COMMERCIAL SUITES, 1 APT., 1 ROOM). WE HAVE NNN ON THE COMMERCIAL. IS THERE A CHECK LIST COMPARING THE QUICKEN PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE BETWEEN 2009 AND 2010 THAT JUST CAME OUT? I SAW YOUR REVIEW ON 2009 BUT NEED A CHECKLIST TO COMPARE THE TWO.
ALSO, I DO NOT WANT TO USE MY MAC FOR THE PROGRAM AND WANT TO USE THE $300 MINI SAMSUNG ONLY FOR THE WINDOWS PROGRAM EXCLUSIVELY. NO INTERNET. JUST RENTAL ACCOUNTING.

Trevor, Thank you for all your input. We are looking into Quicken or Landlord Max for our property manager software. We have 50-100 units. Quicken says that we can use their software, but you say it’s really not good for more than 20. Can you explain a little further in depth. Also, in your “What I Didn’t Like About Landord Max…” you said it doesn’t have integration of your bank accts or built in check register. Are you saying that we will not be able to print checks from this software? That’s ok if we can write information in that properties file about checks written separately. Is Quicken different this way or the same as Landlord Max? I appreciate your insight as we are getting ready to purchase something.

Thanks for the heads up on the info. I haven’t had a chance to get a hold of Todd yet. We had a few other prop. management reviews we already had scheduled… and hopefully will get a hold of Todd this week sometime.

I’m looking forward to reviewing it though… I’m going to do a series on web based prop. management solutions in July/August.
