Top 3 Cities For The Most Affordable Real Estate…

cheapest real estate markets With the recent slump in the real estate market as a result of foreclosures , the mortgage crisis , etc… there are some pretty damn good deals to be had out there by both real estate investors and home buyers.

While some cities around the U.S. are still relatively strong as far as home prices… there are some cities that have ridiculously low average home prices… and may be possible areas to look into when looking for places to buy.

This Top 3 list isn’t comprehensive… and I’m not necessarily saying that they’re the best places to invest (or whether they’re even good places to invest)… they’re the three cities with the lowest average home price in the U.S.

Here we go…

Top 3 Cheapest Average Real Estate Prices in the U.S.

  1. Nicholasville, KY - Median Home Price $70,000 (yep… that’s the MEDIAN home price!)
  2. Watauga, TX - Median Home Price $117,040
  3. Redan, GA - $115,000

Click the links on the names of the cities to learn a bit more about them.

Granted, these cities are relatively small (between 20k - 40k population)… but this goes to show that there are some places in the U.S. that have properties that MAY still be very able to cashflow nicely.  Once again, I don’t know the average rents or how the economies in these cities are doing (which are big factors to an attractive rental property area)… so don’t go out and buy up these properties without doing your own real estate due diligence .

What Is The Most Affordable City For Real Estate That You Know Of?

So… what city do you know of that is very affordable for real estate?  In my market, (Portland, Oregon) the average home price is still well above $250,000… in fact in the city I live in (Lake Oswego, Or) the average home sale price in July was over $450,000!!!  Crazy huh?
