We’re fortunate to have received a second market analysis report from John Burns for July. This one is specifically about local market trends and is a different report from last week’s building report.
In this analysis, they discuss how the BP oil disaster is affecting the metro Houston area, which is a mecca for the energy & gas industries. There’s much uncertainty about how this oil spill will affect employment at other oil companies, although some people think the cleanup effort will be a boost since so many people are needed.
They also draw an interesting comparison to metro Detroit and how that city was negatively affected by the auto industry problems. Definitely an interesting read…and don’t forget to check out the stats for your market.
